LOVE a day in the life of Bert. It seems somewhat familiar.
We have Angus, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. He is just over two years old and is a chonky floofball who just loves spending time with us. We made the mistake of letting him on to our bed when he got fixed as he couldn't get into his sleep cage with the cone of shame on. Since then he refuses to sleep elsewhere at night.
He is now in charge in bed, sleeps on my pillow and wakes me with licks on my head. But we wouldn't have it any other way.
Hahaha Angus!!! I feel like Angus is the same sort of name vibe as Bert. I see he is the head of your household as Bert is the head of ours 😂😂😂so happy you liked the post, thank you so much, my regards to the cosy Gus!!!!!
We also call my dog a ‘cocker-two-poo’. He follows a very similar routine to your dog’s including the beetle snooze, cat security, and sitting in the breeze during evening wee. Love.
Lovely read about Bertie's day. And a welcome breath of fresh air, after wading through many stories today about dark and heavy subjects. Always trust your gut. You're a brilliant writer and always have been. Readers can also be trusted to curate our own reading lists where relief is often sorely needed between the headlines on Gaza and the docos on tik tok cults. Xx keep it up Kate
hey Bert. Bert is at the top of my list of dog names, well done. my actual dog (a dachshund) is called Allie but she goes by Ween because she is weeney. she’s a five poo girl if we walk that long. 😌
Lovely writing as always but triggered my emotions around the undeniable truth that my mum's dog is her favourite child, he is unrelentingly and in every circumstance (including rolling in fox poo) 'a good boy'.
Seems like a good time to mention I did (and may do again) a podcast where I asked wonderful amazing famous people very specific questions about their dogs
It’s called Who’s A Good Dog
Featuring guests like Jon Ronson, Juno Dawson, Phoebe Tonkin, Amrou Al Kadhi, Brooke Boney, Sir Tony Robinson and more!!!
I loved every word of this, Bert. I want to hear about cults and also being a professional fairy

Amazing. Allie/Weeney sounds amazing, i absolutely love a Daschund!!!
omg me too, like I always say, the dignity of the hound plus the indignity of mismatched proportions, a chef’s kiss of a match 😌

"An opinion comes to me! That I must share! And so I do, loudly." This keeps tickling me. 🤣
